At a recent event at BIT BAR SALEM I had the pleasure of seeing Diamond Machine perform, and I was SUPER impressed. As a percussionist I appreciated the changes in style and meter he took us through. He is also a part of another one of the groups in the collective TRI-HEART.
Also of interest is SAM MULLIGAN, who intermingles the type of music I first got into as a young teen with chiptune - the likes of Weezer, Atom & His Package, TMBG, etc.
I also had some long video game geek chats with a very cool dude named Carby, who unfortunately I did not see perform due to the rain, but his stuff online is fantastic:
